Crew Bios

Izabela Ciesinska (Writer/Director/Executive Producer)

With no formal training, Izabela started her film career as a volunteer for film and television Production Companies. She quickly worked her way up from a set PA to a First Assistant Director, having worked on local television shows and independent films. During this time she accumulated the experience and connections she needed in order to write, produce, and direct her first short film, NEDE. Aside from set experience, she has also worked in film sales and distribution, as well as in the Toronto film festival scene.

From 2001-2005, Izabela attended Florida Gulf Coast University on a full athletic/academic scholarship, from which she graduated with a degree in Criminal Forensics (she should have gone to film school instead). Izabela is currently working as an Illustrator while continuing to develop and produce her own independent film projects.

Foad Almassi (Producer)

Foad Almassi started his career in film as an actor. Following High School, he studied at the York Theatrical Performance for three years, at Second City Improv in Toronto, and at the Groundlings School of Improv in California. In 2007 he graduated in Film Production from the Toronto Film School, International Academy of Design and Technology.

Throughout his film production studies, Foad continued to work as an actor but quickly realized that he enjoyed being behind the camera as much as in front of it. Acting and Producing provide him with the best of both worlds – a creative and expressive outlet through character development, as well as the challenge of logistics and collaboration through the process of film production. His credits include Suspect (Short Film, 2009), Today (Short Film, 2009), and I’d Rather Fly (Feature Documentary; El Yelmo Best 2007 Adventure Film).
